Alan was a fantastic DJ for our backyard wedding! He was referred to us by our caterer and we could not have been happier. He was very professional and did a lot of preparation before our big day. He has a planning form that we filled out ahead of time to give him an idea of what vibe we were looking for, and he really took our input and ran with it. He played all of the songs we had requested and took requests from our guests throughout the night. He kept everyone dancing the entire night including our grandparents! He really knew how to cater to the night and people that were there. He helped make our covid wedding so memorable and our guests were complimenting him throughout the night. We used Down the Shore DJs for our wedding at the Flander's Hotel - They were great to work with - booking was easy and they were very responsive! DJ Alan was our DJ for the wedding and he did an amazing job! We were actually married before our wedding celebration and asked him to make sure he didn't announce us as newlyweds - so he announced us as Mr. and Mrs. 179 days later - it got a great roar from the crowd and made us feel comfortable! He kept the party going from the very beginning - Also he saw that we were really into 90s and early 2000 music as that is what we requested for dinner time and he recorded a LIVE Tonic song from a concert we went to and played it specially over dinner! Our wedding reception was a huge success. Our DJs were professional, friendly and super helpful. They kept the dance floor packed the whole night! Everyone loved the cocktail hour and dinner music, I just picked out a handful of our favorites and they filled in beautifully with song selections that pleased everyone young and old. My main requirement was that everyone have fun, and they certainly did. I was so pleased to work with Down the Shore DJs. They have fantastic prices which they post on their website(try to find that when searching for a DJ.. few and far between) They were honest and up front with their pricing.. provide photo booth services, as well as many others. They were great with communication and all my guests raved about them after the wedding! They played great music all night and there was never a shortage of people on the dance floor. I would like to take a minute to thank you for making Jennifer's and Daniel's wedding day so special. We are so happy that we chose Down the Shore DJ's to provide the music for their wedding reception at the Ocean City Yacht Club. Alan was wonderful. He truly made the day quite memorable. Alan had the knack for keeping things moving and for providing what the audience wanted in terms of music. Even those quests that were not dancing enjoyed watching those that were. Many of our guests that we thought would be leaving early stayed to enjoy the music and festivities. Even the children in attendance had so much fun dancing. Alan had to announce the "last dance". I highly recommend Jerry and Alan, they were wonderful to work with and made the night a ton of fun. I spoke with Alan when looking for DJ's and he was so easy to talk to and was very understanding of what I wanted even when I wasn't necessarily clear. They worked with me to make sure my husband and I had a great night without going over our budget. The online paperwork about reception details and song choices was a huge help and a lot of fun to go through. I had so many guests come to me as the groom and rave about how impressed they were with the DJ's. It made me very proud that we chose them. They are very flexible with the payment plans...I paid over the course of 18 months and they were ok with it. We have no complaints...only wonderful things to say about them. Alan did such a wonderful job at our Cape May wedding. The planning process was so nice and smooth it put our minds at ease, knowing we chose a DJ who was well organized. Jerry covered all the details with us for our special day. We planned out every part of our wedding, and Jerry double checked everything.
The music for the ceremony was beautiful.... not too loud, nor too soft, and sounded nice and clear. The microphone setups were great as well. Alans set ups were all nice and neat. For the reception the music was fantastic. Alan played exactly what we wanted and kept the flow of the day moving nicely. When people were dancing, he kept that kind of music going. He did a nice job transitioning through the different types of music.

Our DJs were awesome and the perfect DJ's for our wedding reception! Jerry was quick to respond to my emails and calls prior to the wedding, and made my wedding planning easy. Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why are your prices so low? If you’ve been surfing the net looking for a DJ you’ve probably noticed that we are one of the very few that list our prices. That’s because we have a different philosophy than most. Our goal is to provide the Best Entertainment at the Best Price anywhere! As a result we do not alter our pricing based on event date, venue, or geographical area. While it is true that quality entertainment may be the most important ingredient in planning a successful wedding reception, that shouldn't mean that you need to break the bank to get it. Q: Besides Price, Why should we choose Down the Shore DJ’s? 1. We understand how important this day is to you and we will prepare for it as if it were our own Wedding. Q: Is setup time included in your price? You never have to pay for setup or takedown time. We typically arrive an hour prior to your scheduled start time and will be set up long before your first guest arrives. But it's on our own time! The same applies for takedown time after your event. Q: Do you take breaks? Our services are uninterrupted and non-stop. From our scheduled start time to our scheduled end time we will never stop the music. Much unlike bands that need to stop and rest, we can just keep playing straight through your event! Q: Can we choose the music to be played at our event? Absolutely! We've had customers that have chosen every song for the entire event and others that have left the music selection completely up to us. Our recommendation is to provide us with a list of "must play" songs and list of "play if possible" songs. This will leave plenty of room for requests from your guests and DJ selections. You may also stipulate that we not take requests from you guests. But have fun and select music you want to hear and dance to. After all, it's your event! Q: Can we have a Do Not Play List? Absolutely! Not everyone enjoys the same music, and while most guest lists include a variety of ages and tastes, there may be some songs or types of music that you absolutely do not want to hear.
While our song music library encompasses thousands of hits from the 1940s to today, it's possible that you may have a few requests that are not in our library. Our Event Music Planner form Includes space for unlimited requests. We will obtain all the music requested prior to your event.
One of the most frequent complaints about bands and DJs alike is that they play the music too loud. It doesn't have to be that way! During cocktail and dinner hours the speakers will be strategically positioned for even sound coverage throughout the banquet room at a comfortable level. When it's time to dance, the speakers will be repositioned for maximum sound coverage on the dance floor and minimum sound exposure throughout the rest of the banquet room. This means that on the dance floor the music will be at a very comfortable, yet powerful enough level for dancing. Throughout the rest of the room the music will be less predominant and your guests will actually be able to carry on a normal conversation without screaming!

Q: How interactive are your DJs? Our level of interaction is determined by you - the client. Your vision of the type of atmosphere that you want to create will determine our level of interaction. From Elegant to Electric, we are experts at creating the desired mood!
Q: Are you licensed and insured? Down the Shore DJ’s is fully licensed and insured Q: How early should we book? We’ve taken bookings as early as 2 years in advance, and as late as 2 days. Generally speaking 1 year to 6 months is most common. Q: How do we book our date? Contact us via phone or email (see contact page) We offer a personal consultation to discuss your needs. Once we determine the appropriate package for you, we require a signed event agreement and a 50% deposit to hold your date.
